I’m Thomas A. Carver, Managing Partner and Founder of Harren, a private equity firm I established in 2000. With over three decades of experience, I oversee all aspects of Harren’s investment and portfolio management process, helping businesses achieve sustainable growth and success. My board service spans various Harren portfolio companies, including Virginia Tile Holdings, AGI-CFI Holdings, Velosio Holdings, and Marianna Industries, where I’ve worked closely with leadership teams to drive strategic initiatives. Before founding Harren, I was a Partner at H.I.G. Capital, where I gained extensive private equity experience and served on numerous portfolio company boards. My operational experience includes interim leadership roles, such as President of Plastic Fabricating Company, where I led the business to significant revenue and profitability growth in the aerospace industry, and President of Virginia Explosives & Drilling Company, where I spearheaded a two-fold revenue increase and a three-fold profit growth. Academically, I earned both a Bachelor of Science, with distinction, and an MBA from the University of Virginia. As a Beta Gamma Sigma honoree, I’ve stayed connected to UVA by lecturing at the McIntire School of Commerce and the Darden School of Business. In addition to my professional commitments, I’ve served on the Finance and Information Technology Subcommittees for the Board of Directors at Martha Jefferson Hospital and chaired the Music Resource Center for eight years. Outside the office, I’m a father of two and an avid outdoorsman. I enjoy golfing, skiing, fly-fishing, hunting, and ice hockey. I’m also an instrument-rated private pilot, combining my love of precision with a sense of adventure.
