The Spending Component of the Personal Income Released in Error

Steve Kanaval  |

The Spending component of the Personal Income and Spending Report was released early, it is +0.3%, as was forecast. It is supposedly the only part of the Report that was released.

“There has been an inadvertent release of some of the BEA’s personal consumption expenditure date for November as well as for previous months,” agency spokeswomen Jeannine Aversa, said in an emailed statement. “BEA will take steps to ensure that this does not happen again and will take all appropriate action to safeguard economic data.”

This had little effect on the markets. Understand that economic numbers embargoed by the Federal Reserve can be released in error. This also happens with public companies. It can also happen to you when you send an internal email - so beware.

We live in an information driven society..mistakes happen. Happy Holiday to you and your family
