Long-time NBC favorite Saturday Night Live brought back Kate McKinnon's superb take on German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday, having her discuss how she managed to talk Russian President Vladimir Putin into pulling troops back from the Ukranian border. McKinnon paints Merkel as a hard-working, under-appreciated politician forced to do the tough work dealing with Putin, saying "working with Putin is like being cornered at a party by a guy who just started crossfit," and dubbing him the "bad boy" to Barrack Obama's well-behaved gentleman. It's a delightful take on one of the most powerful and influential politicians in the world and Germany's role in Europe as the stable backstop and peace broker.
