Facing mounting criticism from state regulators and media in China about its response to a customer's complaint, Tesla Inc (Nasdaq: TSLA) apologized to consumers in the world's largest auto market on Monday and promised a review of its service operations.

The automaker had received a wealth of unwanted attention from a very unhappy customer’s now-viral protest at the Auto Shanghai expo last week.
