Vertical finder-site company SearchCore Inc. (SRER) has found a niche connecting local businesses of a similar type, and their unique approach to search is taking off, reaping the company exponential increase in revenues.

As opposed to the broad sweep of search engines, finder site companies like SearchCore group similar businesses together as a comprehensive listing on just one site. Their domain tattoo.com has been particularly successful, recording 622 paying subscribers.

A concomitant launch of Manufacturedhomes.com has expanded SearchCore’s reach as revenues for the company have grown exponentially. From the second quarter to the third quarter of 2013, revenues for SearchCore increased 87 percent, from $102,000 to $190,000.

The company sold their most successful finder site, weedmaps.com, in Dec. 2012 as part of a plan to streamline operations. This move contributed to the significant shedding of SearchCore’s operating expenses, from $964,000 in third quarter 2013 compared to $3.13 million in third quarter 2012.

On Jan 28 SearchCore announced further expansion into the manufactured homes business with the launch of Wisdom Homes of America, Inc., signifying a move into retail operations listed under Manufacturedhomes.com.
