Customers want shipping options and many will never buy from you again if your delivery is late, but having a warehouse full of merchandise you aren’t selling just so you don’t have to miss a shipment isn’t great for your bottom line, either. There’s also the problem of empty space in shipping vehicles, accounting for as much as $400 million a year in waste. What if big data could help?
