Did a Microcap Just Corner a Part of the 4th Industrial Revolution?

Story.

Edge computing brings us the 4th Industrial Revolution. Where sensors report back to artificial intelligence gateways that gather, interpret, and use the big data to make everything ultra efficient. We are about to enter into an era where machine learning will predict breakdowns. From the vibration on a jet’s wing to the 10,000 cars within a mile on the 405, everything will be known. Most of it will be connected through 5G with Google leading the way by building its first smart city in Toronto (link).

But, some of it won’t be above water. There’s a lot under the water already. From cross continental telecommunications to pipelines. Old pipelines that are starting to leak. Coda Octopus went up 43% this week. If you look at the chart, it’s done a lot more than that with barely a notice. That changed because software margins always draw investors, and as CODA goes from sonar to sonar + AI software, investors now care. A highly profitable company that has the corner on the undersea market for autonomous drones and big data just broke out.

The move started months ago when CODA got pulled into a DARPA project through its partnership with Northrop Grumman. Showing that the company can go beyond its commercial applications, and into completely new revenue streams that would accelerate growth.

ORLANDO, FL, April 11, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Coda Octopus Group, Inc. (CODA) (Nasdaq: CODA) today reported that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Biological Technology Office selected Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) to prototype sensing capabilities using undersea organisms to assist in passively detecting and tracking undersea threats.

This week the Market realized that a microcap may have just cornered the big data market for 71% of our planet. For the 4th Industrial Revolution is about to transform Maritime too.
