Why equities.com Acquired VantageWire: It Just Made Perfect Sense

|

Now this is exciting. By now you’ve most likely heard the big news.

On Monday, November 24, 2014, equities.com officially announced the acquisition of VantageWire.com, effectively solidifying our North American footprint by expanding into the Canadian markets. equities.com is now well represented coast to coast with offices in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles and Vancouver.

More importantly, this strategic merger positions us to serve as the premier online platform for the investment community better than ever before.

While we’ve grown significantly through our organic efforts this past year, adding the VantageWire team to the equities.com family immediately magnified our ability to provide superior products and features for our community of active investors, wider distribution for our leading content, and a more robust suite of services for public and private companies.

Unequivocally, 2014 has been a banner year for equities.com. The VantageWire acquisition is just the latest of several major developments that we’ve recently announced to the public.

In July, Enzo Villani joined us as our new CEO. Enzo co-founded Nasdaq Global Corporate Solutions, which today is still the fastest growing division at Nasdaq. He also co-founded DF King Worldwide and MZ Group North America through a series of acquisitions valued at over $400M.

In early November, Michael MacDonald joined as our Chief Technology Officer, bringing with him nearly two decades of invaluable experience in this role. Most recently, Michael was the CTO of Nasdaq Global Corporate Solutions, where he spearheaded their technology strategy, development and operations.

Subsequent to the VantageWire acquisition, Kyle Johnston will serve as our Chief Revenue Officer, and Matthew Fleming will serve as President of Equities.com Canada. I believe we’ve now assembled a world-class management team that is fully qualified to execute our strategic vision.

Next month, equities.com will be hosting the Inaugural Small-Cap Stars Conference at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City on December 18, 2014. We specifically designed the event as a gathering of the brightest emerging growth small-cap companies to present and network with an exclusive group of top-level institutional investors.

It’s been an incredibly busy and rewarding year for equities.com and our growing investment community, but we’re just getting started.

Sincerely,

David Bernard
Founder & Chairman
