Volt Information posts 4Q profit

NEW YORK (AP) _ Volt Information Sciences Inc. (VISI) on Wednesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $2.8 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The New York-based company said it had net income of 13 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 18 cents per share.

The staffing services provider posted revenue of $341.6 million in the period.



For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $14.6 million, or 70 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.33 billion.

Volt Information shares have declined almost 3 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $6.66, a drop of 12 percent in the last 12 months.
