Vermillion reports 4Q loss

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Vermillion Inc. (VRML) on Tuesday reported a loss of $3 million in its fourth quarter.

The Austin, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents per share.

The diagnostic and bio-analytical company posted revenue of $798,000 in the period.



For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $10.5 million, or 20 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $3.1 million.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $1.42. A year ago, they were trading at $2.42.
