Tradiv Aims to Be the Amazon of Cannabis

Destiny A. Lopez |

In recent years, cannabis has proven to be a social and political hot topic. However, with increasing support in favor of legalization in both the Unites States and abroad, the dated stereotypes portrayed in Reefer Madness and other forms of popular culture have started to fade. Another aspect that has helped cannabis’ road to legalization is the business sector. Tradiv, an industry marketplace for cannabis businesses, aims to bring a sense of familiarity to the industry through its online platform.

Tradiv, the fastest growing distributor of legal cannabis in the United States, is making headlines. The Solana Beach-based company’s CEO, Aeron Sullivan, was included on Inc.’s 30 Under 30 list. The highly respected publication stated that the company’s “Amazon-like platform” is helping do away with negative stereotypes long associated with cannabis. “With over 230 businesses using Tradiv in Colorado,” stated Inc, “about $1 million worth of product is sold each month on the platform, making it as easy for a dispensary owner to buy a pound of high-grade marijuana as it is for a liquor store to buy a case of Scotch.”

Tradiv’s platform currently provides Colorado-based businesses a number of tools that allow simple transactions and effective support when needed. These tools include:

  • Cloud based supply-chain management tools that help businesses simplify order fulfillment.
  • Twenty-four hour support.
  • A dedicated trading desk.

Furthermore, earlier this year, Sullivan, along with Tradiv’s Chief Marketing Officer, Lisa Buffo, was selected to showcase at SXSW Interactive’s Startup Spotlight, a recognized incubator of cutting-edge technologies and digital creativity. On March 14, the company showcased in the event’s B2B cannabis marketplace in order to bring awareness to cannabis legalization and increase brand recognition.

Although Tradiv is only currently accepting licensed business in Colorado, the company plans to extend its services to other states, like Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona, in the near future. As a matter of fact, with California’s Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Initiative set to be included on the 2016 ballot, a measure would legalize marijuana and hemp under state law, it seems Tradiv’s true operational and financial potential within the growing billion-dollar cannabis space continues to be seen.
