Teamsters, Activists To Deliver Nearly 50,000 Signed Petitions Calling On UPS To Withdraw From ALEC

Delegations in Washington D.C. and Atlanta to Deliver Petitions to UPS Offices

(WASHINGTON & ATLANTA) – On , Teamsters Union representatives in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Ga. will be joined by environmental and community activists as they deliver nearly 50,000 signed petitions to UPS offices in both cities. The petitions call on the corporation to withdraw its membership in the controversial American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

International Brotherhood Of Teamsters.

The Teamsters Union represents more than 250,000 members at UPS and UPS Freight. UPS remains an active member of ALEC despite the organization's anti-worker and anti-union agenda that seeks to undermine and weaken worker protections.

Nearly 50,000 signatures were collected as part a massive petition drive staged by the Teamsters, Stand Up to ALEC, Jobs With Justice and American Postal Workers Union.
