Protecting the environment, whether it be the land, sea or air, has become both an individual and corporate mission. Through education and ongoing research and design, new green projects across a variety of industries are being developed and marketed. It’s in this vein that the Canadian company Robix Alternative Fuels Inc ($RZX:CNX) is working to make effective products and services available by forming alliances with established companies with global market access that lack a unique environmental solution.
Robix Alternativehas announced that its joint venture (JV) between its Mexican subsidiary, Corris Technologies Mexico SA de CV, and Petrolmeca SA de CV has received technical and legal approval to design and build a land-based P Series oil spill recovery platform. Approved by the senior representatives of Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex), the oil spill recovery platform will be used in one of its large oil production settling ponds.
The P Series uses patented drum technology to siphon oil from the surface of the ponds within oil production facilities. The recovered oil is recirculated within the client’s facility.
"The Robix patented oil recovery drum technology is truly versatile, and suited to multiple platform configurations," said Nathan Hansen, president and CEO of Robix. "Oil recovery from settling ponds in a production setting is an exciting application for the Robix technology. Optimization of production facilities is key to oil producers globally and I believe that our land based solution can be duplicated in production facilities throughout Mexico and indeed globally. We have taken technology that was developed to mitigate oil spill accidents and applied it to new markets.
New Leadership Pushing for Environmental Innovations
An industrial products and technology company, Robix has made a number of milestone announcements in 2015. In March, Robix appointed a Chief Development Officer to oversee the company’s Clean Ocean Vessel project launch. And in September, the company announced a proposed unit private placement, where the net proceeds from the offering were designated to finance the corporation’s capital program, and for general operating capital purposes.
Robix’s joint venture and recent project approval will shine a light on current and future environmental innovations. “Staying nimble and innovative is crucial in this market place and this is a testament to our team and our partners, said Hansen. “This represents a new revenue stream for Robix, and I believe the market opportunity is tremendous."
