Canadian gold miner Richmont Mines (RIC:CA) (RIC) has announced the addition of Anne Day as the new Vice President, Investor Relations. Day brings nearly two decades of experience in investor relations to the table, including 11 years working in the mining space, most recently with AuRico Gold, where she was an integral part of their executive team. Her expertise and experience make her a valuable addition.
"I am excited to join the Richmont team, as I see tremendous opportunity to create shareholder value,” said Day. “Richmont's quality asset base in Canada has significant organic growth and exploration potential, particularly at the high-grade Island gold operation, and is led by a proven management team. With a strong balance sheet and growing free cash flow streams, Richmont is well positioned for the next stage of its strategic growth profile. I am looking forward to working with the Richmont team to unlock the inherent value at Richmont."
New Addition Points to Strengthened Executive Team
The excitement at Richmont about the arrival of Day was palpable.
"Anne is an excellent complement to our executive team at this exciting stage of our corporation's evolution,” said President and CEO Renaud Adams. “Her significant knowledge and experience and demonstrated ability to create best-in-class investor relations programs will best position Richmont for the next phase of its strategic transformation. I look forward to working with Anne in her new role as we continue to grow Richmont in the coming years."
This development comes on the heels of the recent announcement that Richmont, in the midst of a 12-month period that has shares up over 60%, will be added to the S&P/TSX SmallCap Index.
