With over half the states in the U.S. already having legalized cannabis for either medinical and/or recreational purposes and an additional 13 more ready to introduce ballots in the coming year, the industry is poised for expansion at an astonishing pace. Of the over 250 public companies in the space, about 50 of them are actively tracked in the Viridian Cannabis Index. The companies are segmented into 11 sub-industries, which speaks to the breadth of the still-young cannabis market, ranging from technology to agriculture to biotech.
