ROANOKE, Virginia - Defense contractor AECOM of Roanoke was recently awarded a $46 million contract, according to an announcement by the U.S. Army. AECOM's contract is for architectural and engineering services within the Transatlantic Middle East District Areas of Responsibility/Mission Boundaries, the Army said. The contract runs through .

"This is great news for the City of Roanoke and the surrounding counties," said Congressman Ben Cline (VA-06). "The men and women who staff defense contractors in the Sixth Congressional District are among our country's most talented, servicing America's military around the globe. This latest contract confirms the strength of Roanoke and the Sixth District's defense industry."

Congressman Ben Cline became the 35th Congressman to represent the Sixth District of Virginia in 2019. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2018. Cline lives in Rockbridge County with his wife and two daughters.
