Waiting for approval to pursue one’s goals is a universal stress. After weeks or months of effort and careful attention to every requirement and detail, there is inevitably one person or committee that can either mark the project complete, or send it back to the drawing board. Canadian mining company MGX Minerals Inc (XMG:CNX) is currently in the middle of this arduous process, as they await a pending approval in the crucial last stage of their major mining project.
MGX Minerals’ flagship Driftwood Creek project has been submitted in the final step of mining lease issuance to the British Columbia Land Title and Survey Authority. The project was completed, certified and is awaiting review by the B.C. Surveyor General and the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Mines.
Currently controlling the majority of known magnesite occurrences in British Columbia, the Vancouver-based mining company’s goal for the project is to construct a quarry mine processing plant to produce magnesium oxide. Driftwood Creek is located in the Brisco-Driftwood mining district of Southeastern British Columbia.
One Step Closer to Producing a Vital Product
Continued production of magnesium oxide ensures that consumers will have access to over-the-counter medicines that help treat acid indigestion, heartburn, and low magnesium levels.
Having completed the Driftwood Creek Phase II drilling in just over a month, it’s hard to play the waiting game. However, in MGX Minerals’ case, the multiple channels of approval will have been worth the trouble, as the issuance of this mining lease will allow MGX Minerals to take a leading role in providing various medical companies with a mineral that is absolutely essential to our health.
