In construction, archeology or mining, applying, submitting and being approved for any number of permits is a process that requires multiple stages of review. Without proper permits, projects can be halted or delayed – and in many cases, the most frustrating part of a project is waiting to get started. However, MGX Minerals Inc. ($XMG:CNX), a mining company engaged in the acquisition and development of industrial mineral deposits, is one company that no longer has to play the waiting game.
The Canadian-based company announced that the necessary permits required to conduct an archaeological impact assessment of the company’s Driftwood Creek magnesite project have been received from the B.C. Ministry of Forests. The goal of the Driftwood Creek Project, located in the Brisco-Driftwood mining district of Southeastern British Columbia, is to construct a quarry mine processing plant to produce magnesium oxide.
An Essential Mineral for Heartburn Medicine
Magnesium oxide is a mineral that is used in a number of applications – the most common of which can be found as close as a neighborhood drugstore. Continued production of magnesium oxide ensures that consumers will have access to over-the-counter medicines that help treat acid indigestion, heartburn, and low magnesium levels.
In September, MGX Minerals’ project was submitted for review by the B.C. Surveyor General and the B.C. Ministry of Energy and Mines in a final stage of approval. So now, the wait is over, and the permits are in capable hands. With this positive development in the Driftwood Creek project, MGX Minerals can now proceed in their work to ensure that magnesium oxide will be readily available to ease the everyday aches and discomforts of those who suffer from indigestion and heartburn.
