JB Hunt misses 2Q profit forecasts

LOWELL, Ark. (AP) _ JB Hunt Transport Services Inc. (JBHT) on Monday reported second-quarter net income of $97.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Lowell, Arkansas-based company said it had net income of 88 cents.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 10 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 92 cents per share.



The trucking and logistics company posted revenue of $1.73 billion in the period, matching Street forecasts.

JB Hunt shares have fallen slightly more than 5 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased almost 8 percent in the last 12 months.
