Improving the Well-Being of Women and Families through Grants

Julia Novakovich  |

Women play an integral role in their families, as well as society as a whole. When a women’s well-being is suffering, those that depend on them are directly affected. This is especially true in impoverished households, which often suffer from hunger, sickness, disempowerment, and marginalization. Therefore, when well-being is addressed it benefits not only women but those around them as well.

However, the issue of improving well-being is complex since it’s more than just being physically healthy. It involves numerous aspects of health including physical, mental, emotional, and social. It also includes having a sense of purpose and high life satisfaction.

Understanding the importance of the well-being of women, who make up half of the US population, many organizations have begun offering grants designed to help improve the well-being of women and families. Here is a list of some of the grants that are available for this purpose in the US.

WIC is a grant that is available for individuals. It is a grant program that is designed specifically for women, infants under 1, and children under 5. If you are an organization that offers gender-specific programs for women and girls in your community look at different foundations and organizations in the community to see if they offer women’s fund grant programs. If you are an individual looking for assistance in receiving payments with your own well-being consider WIC if you meet the eligibility requirements. Otherwise, look for charitable organizations in your community and see if they have any programming that may help you with your specific needs.

There are many programs available specifically for women and girls. It is just a matter of figuring out which programs can help you with your specific needs.
