AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Hanger Inc. (HNGR) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $4.5 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Austin, Texas-based company said it had profit of 12 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses and non-recurring costs, were 40 cents per share.

The orthotic and prosthetic company posted revenue of $284.9 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $858,000, or 2 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $1.05 billion.

Hanger expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.08 billion to $1.11 billion.

Hanger shares have risen roughly 3 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $19.45, an increase of 22 percent in the last 12 months.
