The fall and winter months wreak havoc on outdoor gardens. From those with green thumbs who want access to freshly grown vegetables, to DIY urban dwellers with little space and a big desire for fresh herbs, having an indoor garden has increased in popularity.
Hydroponics is a method of growing plants without soil. With only mineral nutrients and a fraction of the water used in traditional gardening, hydroponic techniques are popular in regions that experience extreme weather conditions or frequent droughts.
That’s exactly why Future Harvest has recently expanded its line of gardening products to better serve the booming popularity of the hydroponic and indoor growing industry. Future Harvest, which is 60% owned by Invictus MD Strategies Corp ($IVITF) ($IMH:CSX), has been a leader in this space for over 20 years, providing innovative products through leading distributors across North America.
Future Harvest’s expanded gardening solutions include two new products that provide indoor gardening solutions.
The new Wicking Gardens line includes Chili Grow, Herb Grow, and Duo Grow Gardens. These gardens contain smart reservoirs that prevent water logged or overly dry roots. The continual flow of oxygen, as a result of optimal root conditions, will result in a harvest nearly double the size of traditional pot-based gardens.
Micro Grow Light Garden
A follow-up to the highly successful Grow Light Garden, the Micro Grow Light Garden is half the size of its predecessor. Complete with a sturdy base that doubles as a water reservoir and the energy saving Sunblaster 6400K T5HO fluorescent tube lighting, the Micro Grow Light Garden is ideal for small spaces like a kitchen counter top or small office space.
"Urban farming and gardening is becoming increasingly popular and these wicking gardens are perfect for this quickly growing market,” said Travis Brown, Sales Manager of Future Harvest. “Future Harvest has received excellent customer feedback and reviews on the gardens thus far, and we look forward to continual growth as the industry strengthens and demand continues to rise."
Calnesium Nutrient Boost
Future Harvest’s new hydroponic additive is specifically designed for crops that require an additional nutrient boost. Calnesium is a Plantlife Product that acts as foliar spray, plant nutrient boost, and as an additive that prevents blossom end rot on tomatoes. The product is a blend of Nitrogen, Calcium and Magnesium.
