DAVIDsTEA to Announce Financial Update This Month

Destiny A. Lopez  |

While I do love a good cup of coffee, I usually start my day with several cups of aromatic tea. I must have a variety of teas, loose or bagged, within reach at all times, with my go-to varieties containing usually Chamomile, green, and peppermint teas. It always a great feeling whenever I find a reliable source for good quality tea and fun, long lasting mugs and kettles. DAVIDsTEA (DTEA), a beverage company, is of these sources; and, the company is never short on tea, nor short on new developments.

Headquartered in Montreal, DAVIDsTEA’s 193 stores throughout the U.S. and Canada offers a wide variety of loose leaf teas and other tea-related products. The company has quickly made a name for itself in the beverage market since its founding in 2008 by, according to the company website, offering 150 varieties of loose-leaf teas and tea blends across 8 tea categories, such as white, green, oolong, black, pu'erh, mate, rooibos, and herbal tea.

Recently, DAVIDsTEA announced that it will release its Q4 and 2015 year end reports on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 after the market close. A conference call to discuss the report will follow at 4:40 EST. Furthermore, in February, the company teamed up with ME to WE, a charity focused social enterprise, and created a collection of ME to WE tea and tea-related accessories.

“We are impressed by ME to WE as a social enterprise, and are thrilled to help make an impact by empowering both our staff and our consumers to take part in this initiative,” said Sylvain Toutant, President and CEO of DAVIDsTEA. “This collaboration symbolizes how we at DAVIDsTEA can continue to infuse people’s lives with joy, one sip of tea at a time.”

The love for tea really does add up. According to Market Realist, The U.S. alone is the fourth largest tea market and the second largest tea importer in the world. DAVIDsTEA is among the companies that are making this market a force to be reckoned within the beverage sector. Through its quality teas and charity focused partnerships, the company’s brand not only speaks to current tea lovers; but, could also reach a variety of target demographics, such as families and millennials. The investment community looks forward to the company's financial update and other future developments.
