VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Feb. 10, 2015) - CARIBOU KING RESOURCES LTD. ("Caribou" or the "Company") ($CKR:CA)(FRANKFURT:CB8) is pleased to announce exceptional preliminary results of up to 99.3% graphitic carbon (Cg) from its first beneficiation test conducted by SGS Canada Inc. (Lakefield) on the 100% owned Buckingham flake/lump graphite property.
The 2 kilogram (kg) surface sample, taken from an exposed vein with a head grade of 55.8% Cg (57.9% total C), was concentrated by grinding and flotation and divided into three size fractions: +48, +100 and -100 mesh. All three concentrates returned high grade graphitic carbon (Cg) content with very little losses in the tailings and middling streams. The +48 mesh size (jumbo size) fraction represented 36.6% of the flotation concentrate and was assayed at 99.3% Cg. The +100 mesh size (medium to large size) fraction represented 25.6% of the flotation concentrate and was assayed at 98.8% Cg. The -100 mesh size (fine to amorphous) fraction represented 32.7% of the flotation concentrate and was assayed at 95.3% Cg. These results are summarized in the following table:
Initial Flotation Test Results
|Concentrate Fraction||Distribution (%)||Assay (% Cg)|
|Total recovery (%)||94.9|
|*Flotation test analysis from a 1kg portion of the 2kg bulk sample.|
Results were obtained in a single flotation test without process optimization. A full process development study including grinding and flotation optimization is anticipated to return higher flotation concentrate recoveries and grades, thus reducing the operating cost of a downstream purification process.
These positive results at Buckingham have triggered an extensive follow-up program now being planned by the Company.
Michael B. England, CEO & Director of Caribou King stated, "After just an initial traditional flotation test, Buckingham has yielded a concentrate that assayed 99.3% Cg which is extremely encouraging, especially when considering that they were obtained in a single set of tests without any process optimization."
All carbon analyses were performed by SGS Canada Inc. (Lakefield) and are reported as graphitic carbon Cg employing a LECO SC-632 instrument.
Isabelle Robillard, P. Geo #287 (an Associate of Inlandsis Consultants s.e.n.c.), an Independent Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed the metallurgical balance sheet and assay results produced by SGS Canada Inc. (Lakefield) approved the technical information provided in this news release.
