Southern New Hampshire University Launches BeASocialEntrepreneur.org

Southern New Hampshire University reaffirmed its commitment to its burgeoning Social Entrepreneur Bachelor of Science program with the development and launch of BeASocialEntrepreneur.org. The website offers a platform to raise awareness of social entrepreneurs worldwide and foster learning and inspiration.

SNHU is also a sponsor of Goyoung, a project created by 3 Belgian students who embarked on a 9-month journey in October 2011, shooting a documentary on social entrepreneurs under the age of 30 who have undertaken life-changing projects in their respective countries. Their mission is to promote social entrepreneurship in youth around the world and establish a comparative global study of the different models of social business they document in their travels. Goyoungs progress will be shared periodically on BeASocialEntrepreneur.org.

Rob Michalak, director of global social mission for Ben & Jerrys, shared his companys social mission with Southern New Hampshire University as part of an exclusive video series for the social entrepreneurship website. Wood Turner, VP of sustainability for Stonyfield Farm discusses the importance of his organizations 9-team mission, which is charged with targeting specific environmental impacts and finding solutions.

A bi-weekly Q & A segment, The Social-E Six, features brief interviews with social entrepreneurs working toward sustainable resolution to societal issues, many of whom who have drawn on their business education and experience to move toward a more meaningful career.

The social entrepreneurship program at Southern New Hampshire University more than anything else is an integrated cross-discipline program, said Burt Reynolds, assistant professor and chair of SNHUs organizational leadership department. Weve seen our society come to a place where people say, 'I really truly want to make a difference.'
