BRIEF: Bird strikes JetBlue plane, forces return to airport [Sun Sentinel]
By Tonya Alanez, Sun SentinelMcClatchy-Tribune Information ServicesNov. 26--DANIA BEACH -- A bird struck the right engine of a JetBlue flight bound for Puerto Rico shortly after takeoff Monday morning, forcing its return to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
JetBlue flight 1751 returned to the airport at about 6:50 a.m., said Sharon A. Jones, a spokeswoman for JetBlue Airways Corp.
No one was hurt and the aircraft landed safely. Maintenance crews were inspecting the aircraft for damage, Jones said.
The passengers were loaded onto a new plane and continued their trip.
