BRIEF: Chase says online banking slow after morning outage [Chicago Tribune]

Nov. 02--New York-based Chase confirmed that some customers are experiencing slowness in logging into its online banking system.

Earlier in the day the system was down, the bank acknowledged on its Twitter feed.

"We apologize for the inconvenience," a spokeswoman for Chicago's biggest bank said early Friday afternoon as the system was up but slow and occasionally requiring multiple log-in attempts. "As we work to fix the issue, customers may reach us by phone or through the Chase Mobile app."

In September, Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and PNC were among the banks hit with online attacks, making mobile banking difficult.
