Schlumberger Business Consulting Appoints Director for UtilitiesTargeted News Service
PARIS, Sept. 20 -- Schlumberger issued the following news release:
Schlumberger Business Consulting (SBC), the management consultancy arm of Schlumberger, today announces the appointment of Chris Peeters as director of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Peeters also assumes responsibility for managing the Utilities practice, which is based in Paris and supported by seasoned advisors and personnel across a global network of 14 major offices.
Prior to joining SBC, Peeters was a partner at McKinsey & Company where he specialized in strategy, organization and risk management engagements in the energy sector, with a principal focus on utilities. He brings more than 14 years of experience in the utilities field, including leading the integration of several energy companies involving regulatory negotiation, modeling commercial scenarios for the European gas and power market, and reorganizing the gas and crude commercialization processes for national oil companies. Peeters holds a master's degree in civil engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven.
"We are delighted with the growth of our exceptional management team and the strengthening of our Utilities practice at this critical juncture, as the energy sector faces a period of transition. Not least of the challenges ahead are the reduction of energy poverty and the development of alternative energy sources," said Antoine Rostand, global managing director, SBC. "Natural gas is a significant component in energy demand and is crucial for the upstream industry's convergence with the utilities sector. Chris' experience will stand our clients in good stead to make the right decisions."
Schlumberger Business Consulting also continues to expand its global leadership team around the world. Six new vice presidents have joined SBC practices in Australia, Brazil, the United States, France and the United Kingdom, bringing further experience in consulting areas as diverse as strategic operations to human resources and organizational management. With these personnel additions, SBC adds 75 years cumulative experience to its portfolio. To see appointments, go to: www.sbc.slb.com/utilities_release.
