Mexico : 50 MW geothermal power plant to be built by Mitsubishi. [TendersInfo (India)]

Japan s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd said it has reached an agreement with Mexico s Federal Electricity Commission, or CFE, to build a 50 MW geothermal power plant in the western Mexican state of Michoacan.

The Japanese company said that this facility, which will be completed in December 2014, will be the twelfth geothermal power plant delivered by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to Mexico.

Los Azufres III project is offered with engineering, manufacturing, procurement and assembling services by Japanese company and the power plant is a part of the Los Azufres III project.

A steam turbine will be provided by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the power plant that will be built by subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric.

The deal will help expand Mitsubishi Heavy Industries business in Mexico, which is No. 5 in the world in terms of geothermal resources.

The deal will enable Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to grow its business in Mexico. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries ranks 5th in geothermal resources.

The new plant will permit the CFE to sustain its growing call for electricity due to economic growth.
