United States : FIRST SOLAR inks ourchase deals with PG&E [TendersInfo (India)]

First Solar Inc. signed a power purchase deal with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) for 72 megawatts AC of solar electricity to be produced at two photovoltaic power units which is being developed in central California by First Solar.

The two units - Kern County's 32-megawatt Lost Hills project and Santa Barbara County's 40-megawatt Cuyama project would likely generate around 600 job opportunities during peak construction.

The power purchase agreement are subject to approval by the California Public Utilities Commission, which is likely to decide on the project during the first half of 2013.
