BRIEF: U.S. Bank's parent company dabbles in solar energy [Star Tribune, Minneapolis]
By Dee DePass, Star Tribune, MinneapolisMcClatchy-Tribune Information ServicesJuly 31--Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp announced Tuesday that it has teamed up with National Consumer Cooperative Bank to start a $64.4 million fund that will finance eight West Coast solar energy projects, according to reports issued by Bloomberg.
The new fund is expected to finance the construction of eight photovoltaic systems capable of generating 18 megawatts of power.
Borrego Solar Systems Inc. in San Diego will install the systems, four of which will be built in California landfills. One will be built for a school district.
