Stock market postpones due to strong Typhoon

HONG KONG, Jul 23, 2012 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Hong Kong Exchanges and ClearingLimited (HKEx) announced Tuesday the morning trading sessions ofboth the securities and derivatives markets have been delayed dueto the issuance of Typhoon Signal No. 8.

If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above remains issued at 9:00 a.m.,the morning trading sessions for all markets will be canceled.

If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is canceled at or before 12:00noon, major products of HKEx's securities and derivatives marketswill resume trading in the afternoon.

Trading will begin on the first half hour at least two hoursafter the discontinuation of the Typhoon Signal No. 8.

If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above remains issued at 12:00 noon,all trading sessions in the day will be canceled.

HKEx will make a further announcement in due course.
