Crowdfinance – Breaking New Ground on Wall Street

By  +Follow December 6, 2013 12:09AM

A surge of financial innovation; guided by shifting trends in communications, advancements in technology, and a new regulatory landscape; has triggered sweeping changes across the entire financial services sector. Today’s global equity and debt markets are rapidly being redefined through a growing movement known as Crowdfinance where capital is derived by the pooling of monies from a large crowd of individual investors instead of from big institutions and Government entities.

As the flow of capital becomes increasingly more democratized through rising asset classes such as peer-to-peer and peer-to-business lending as well as equity-crowdfunding, a floodgate of opportunities is opening for smaller underwriters, issuers and investors of all sizes.

All of these newfound opportunities will be explored at Crowdfinance 2013, Wall Street’s preeminent crowdfinance event.

Taking place on December 17th at Thomson Reuters’ Conference Center in Midtown Manhattan, this soon-to-be-sold-out event will feature a powerful lineup of keynote presentations and interactive panel discussions from experts in every aspect of crowdfinance including p2p and p2b lending, intrastate crowdfunding, PIPRs (“Private Issuers Publicly Raising” via 506c), registered crowdfunding and reward-based crowdfunding. The sessions will also draw insight from recognized leaders in market data, social media, financial infrastructure, investment banking, securities law, venture capital and retirement planning.

During the course of the conference, industry leaders will introduce new corporate finance structures and modern methods of marketing deals on the Street. They will also present a road map for private-share secondary transactions and unveil the infrastructure that has been developed to support this expanding industry.

Renowned speakers include: Steven M.H. Wallman, former Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; Andrew Klein, Founder of Wit Capital and first person to offer securities via the Internet; Debra Walton, Chief Content Officer, Financial & Risk of Thomson Reuters; David Weild, former Vice Chairman of NASDAQ; Ron Suber, Head of Institutional Sales at Prosper and Peter Renton, Founder of Lend Academy.

Attendees will include investment bankers, financial advisors, fund managers, asset allocators, family offices, financial consultants, accredited investors and select members of the financial media.
